You can rely on Booming Blade kr Green Flame Blade instead of going to extra attack. This might help you to focus mainly on dex instead of cha. Viable, yes. WebDoing a melee warlock without hexblade is doable, but it's underpowered. You'll need to take the pact of the blade and all the invocations for it. Ideally you want to concentrate on Str, Con, and finally Cha. If you want to go Dex and/or use shields then you want one or two levels of fighter. It also helps with a two handed warlock.
